✧ Telekinesis - Healing
Regained - Starting skill!
Notes - Okay, so some info about healing in Elfquest in general. This is essentially the ability to telekinetically manipulate living flesh to knit up wounds, purge sickness, etcetera. (Even grow hair. Canon!) Winnowill can also manipulate sensation, shapeshift, and a batch of other wacky stuff, but I've broken that out into other skills along this skill tree. So it's worth noting that, without her sensation manipulation, she won't be able to be a psychic painkiller while she does this. No soothing touch for the moment, just getting injured in reverse. She must have physical contact for this: it's laying on of hands, complete with a faint golden glow spreading from her palms as she works.
This is not RPG healing. It's not instantaneous. It might take her only a few moments to make a papercut go away, sure, but knitting up broken bones or massive internal injuries can take an hour or more of work. Winnowill is the most powerful healer in her canon, but she's also currently powercapped, and part of how I'm capping her, aside from simply limiting how much she can do in one day, is making her healing take longer. She can push to speed it up, but she'll exhaust herself much faster.
Like all of Winnowill's skills, this can be inverted. For most of her screentime in canon (as opposed to her past, before she went nuttyfucks), she's a healer in reverse: she hurts rather than heals. She can, in an emergency, cause injury, ripping bodies apart, pulverizing flesh. It's ugly. :) BUT this use of this skill is not going to be instinctive to her. How capable Winnowill is of either healing or reverse-healing depends upon her mental state. And given how late in the series she does this nasty trick, I'm guessing she has to be pretty far downhill to be even capable of it. So this is more a note for reference.
Onwards! Elves, in Elfquest, mostly deal with other elves, including healing and other such hijinks. There's one case where another, weaker (but still quite capable) healer tries to heal a human, and it takes her hours and completely wipes her out. Elves are flesh-and-blood creatures, but they are also intensely magical creatures, and trying to get mundane flesh to move itself around by your well is a lot harder than dealing with the magical variety. Obviously the only elf in Aather is Winnowill herself; she will find it easier to work on herself than on anyone else. This is, in a way, a non-Three-instituted powercap: a fair chunk of Aather's population is going to take more out of her to heal than she might expect. Basically, I will be doing my best to balance all this to make her an effective healer without going godmode.
So this is now going to turn into a permissions survey sort of thing...
If Winnowill is ever healing you (or doing other things to you, once she picks up more skills), I will need to ask this, so I might as well ask this now and have it on hand in case people feel like answering in advance. People who get injured a lot are especially encouraged to fill this out! To have some idea of how easy it will be to work on you, I need to know the following:
What is your body made of? Human-ish flesh and blood, wacky other flesh and blood, something else entirely? If you're made of magic, what kind of magic is it?
How maaaagical are you? Mundane? RPG character who wields some magic on the side? Dedicated mage? Cosmic macguffin in human form? (One more edited-in note: psychic counts as magic! (EQ magic is psionics, pretty much, it's just maaaagical~ enough psionics that I'm letting them be pretty compatible with magic for the sake of Aather RP.)
Also some notes from stuff I've already figured out!
- Dead people are a go. Come to my bosom, little magical girls.
- People made of something that isn't human or animal flesh and blood are not. Sorry Katou. :(
- People made entirely of magic/psychic energy/etcetera are...not a go at the moment. I sort of derped on that when I first wrote this post, possibly because I was tipsy at the time. This skill needs physical flesh and blood to manipulate. When she gets back her psychic/telepathic healing skill, she'll be able to work wonders with you adorable little magical constructs, but. Feel free to stick info down here anyway, I will come back to this for all healing reference as I go!

Fortunately I don't think we will have to go 'WHAT IS EVEN GOING ON HERE' too often because I don't think Mithos winds up needing healing from other parties that much.

Date: 2012-02-04 06:00 am (UTC)1. Human flesh! Completely normal here.
2. Other than magical sleight-of-hand and illusions, not magical at all :|a
AND FOR ROSE
1. Also completely human.
2. As of right now, not magical at all, but once she earns her Persona back she'll ping for magic. It'll start off weak but with lots of potential, and as she grows more powerful the magic will grow with her. By the end of the game she's one of the more powerful magic users in the game, so! :|b Not RPG protag powerful, but still powerful.

Kyouko is idkmybff madoka. Uhm. She has her own magic based in her soul gem, it doesn't have a specific type either... though she's predisposed towards illusory magics, I guess. Also her soul isn't in her body anymore, it just controls it from the soul gem, so technically her body is just a lifeless shell (though otherwise it's human).
She is a magical girl :|a

Date: 2012-02-04 06:29 am (UTC)Once he gets back the proper skills (labeled "Paper-thin" and "Role and rule as the White Rabbit" in my registry), his body will revert to what it is in canon to match the fact that he is a fictional character. I will edit this comment for more clarity when that happens, but basically he won't be able to sustain injuries unless under specific circumstances and his blood will be replaced with ink and I think he might basically be made of paper idk. W. WE'LL SEE.

Date: 2012-02-04 09:20 am (UTC)2. Vampire! "Flesh and blood but intensely magical" is actually not a bad way of describing him, since vampires in Being Human do seem to be sort of... connected to magic? They have various otherworldly senses and are affected by the world in magical ways and stuff like that. So he's more than just a plain reanimated corpse that needs to feed on blood (which I would otherwise be inclined to say he is because BH is very firmly rooted in plain real life things for the most part).
I... think that makes sense :|a let me know if it doesn't

Date: 2012-02-04 02:25 pm (UTC)Riful, OTOH, is not human at all, she's a handwave-supernatural voremonster called a yoma that definitely pings for magic of some kind and has supernatural regen abilities of its own. So. Let's go with 'wacky other flesh and blood' for $1000, Alex.
oh god it's a winnowill this is going to be safe

Date: 2012-02-04 04:32 pm (UTC)> her body is made of human flesh and blood!
> she's magical enough that she pings in her world as something different than ordinary human. She's an RPG character who wields magic on the side, but her existence is also Not Human. She's a mush of god-dragon soul in there.
Rabbit/Ayame (
> snake ayakashi flesh and blood…
> at the moment, decently-to-high magical? Hard to quantify. She has ~phenomenal cosmic powers~, sort of, hardly ever uses them, etc etc, and the powers come from the combination of her human soul and her ayakashi body.

Date: 2012-02-05 08:23 pm (UTC)Judy isn't very magical. She has the capability, but she chooses to rely on brute strength. Emil, however, is thousands of years old. As old as the length of the elves' stay on Aselia. And is basically a bundle of magic, though most of it is beyond his use/capabilities right now. Emil may ping her as a part of the whole-- and the whole is going to be Ratatosk. Ratatosk is very much semi-godlike creature. Sooooo take that as you will.

Date: 2012-02-08 07:09 pm (UTC)As for how magical he is; he is an RPG boss that wields some fairly decent magic on the side.
